The Tilles Festival Band will perform as part of the 16th annual LIU Post Band Festival at Tilles Center – a unique musical event held at LIU Post's Tilles Center for the Performing Arts March 31 to April 3, 2020. We invite you to nominate some of your most talented high school musicians to join this Festival Band.
The Tilles Festival Band – a combined ensemble made up of the LIU Post Wind Symphony and selected high school musicians and their directors from across the New York metropolitan area – will rehearse and perform four pieces under the batons of LIU Post Director of Wind Studies Dr. James McRoy and 2020 Composer-in-Residence Brian Balmages. Repertoire will include two of Balmages' works along with two other pieces, all to be performed at the final night's concert at Tilles Center. The concert will also feature the high school wind band ensembles from Ward Melville High School and West Islip High School, as well as the LIU Post Wind Symphony, also under the batons of McRoy and Balmages.
The schedule for the rehearsals and performance (all held at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts) is:

Once selected, all students will be provided music for the festival and will be required to attend both rehearsals and the festival concert. Invoices and instructions for payment for selected students will be sent to each Band Director AFTER the 2020 Festival Band is chosen. No payment is required at this time for nominations.
