Featuring our 2019 Composer-in-Residence Dr. Jack Stamp
The Tilles Festival Band will perform as part of the 15th annual LIU Post Band Festival at Tilles Center – a unique musical event held at LIU Post's Tilles Center for the Performing Arts from April 9-12, 2019. We invite you to nominate some of your most talented high school musicians to join this Festival Band.
The Tilles Festival Band – a combined ensemble made up of the LIU Post Wind Symphony and selected high school musicians and their directors from across the New York metropolitan area – will rehearse and perform four pieces under the batons of LIU Post Director of Wind Studies Dr. James McRoy and 2019 Composer-in-Residence Dr. Jack Stamp. Repertoire will include two of Stamp's works along with two other pieces, all to be performed at the final night's concert at Tilles Center. The concert will also feature the high school wind band ensembles from West Islip High School and William Floyd High School, as well as the LIU Post Wind Symphony, also under the batons of McRoy and Stamp.
The schedule for the rehearsals and performance (all held at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts) is:
