Don Miller was an award-winning jazz guitarist while a
student at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. The
guitarist placed first at the University of Notre Dame Jazz Festival and
recorded an LP with his quartet, which received three stars in Downbeat. He
received his DMA from the University of Southern California in 1981. His Finger

was premiered by the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra in 1989. In
addition, the author has many published choral compositions. In 1991, he
received New York States highest award, the SUNY Chancellors Award
for Excellence in Teaching. He currently is a professor at Onondaga Community
College and Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.
