Long Island Guitar Festival 2012

The 20th annual Long Island Guitar Festival was held April 16 to 22, 2012 at LIU Post in Brookville, NY.

Artists who appeared at the Festival include LAGQ (Los Angeles Guitar Quartet), The Appassionata Trio, Benjamin Verdery, David Leisner, Jorge Caballero, Ana Vidovic, musicians from "A Midsummer Music Dream.", Bishop McGuinness High School Guitar Ensemble, Brentwood High School Guitar Ensemble and Emerging Artist Kevin Sherwin.


This year's Festival was dedicated to the memory and music of Howard Morgen. A special tribute to him, "Remembering Howard Morgen" was held on the last day of the Festival Sunday, April 22.

Featured at the Festival was the World Premiere of Harrisdale Concerto for Guitar & Saw/Violin and Guitar Orchestra by Dr. Alan Hirsh, celebrating the Festival's twentieth anniversary. At YouTube: First Movement, Second Movement.

Festival Notes

Please join us for the 21st Long Island Guitar Festival to be held March 17 to 24, 2013. The Festival's opening concert on March 17 will feature The Williams-Etheridge Duo - John Williams & John Etheridge.
